ORLANDO, Fla. — Jared Oliver will join WFTV Channel 9′s Sports team Sept. 26 as a sports reporter/anchor, news director Tina Commodore said Thursday.

Oliver will work alongside sports reporter/anchor Joe Kepner on Channel 9 Eyewitness News, keeping Central Florida informed of the latest developments in the sports world.
He said he spent many summers visiting Orlando as a child.

“There’s a lot of sports coverage in Florida, and I’m looking forward to being part of it,” Oliver said.
He was recognized as the 2021 Sports Personality of The Year by the Alabama Broadcasters Association earlier this year.
Oliver previously worked as a sports anchor at WVTM-TV in Birmingham, Alabama, and a sports reporter for WDVM in Hagerstown, Maryland, which serves Washington, DC.

He is a graduate of Georgia State University in Atlanta.
