One committee member says the new details to be released Thursday revolve around former President Donald Trump’s role that day, derived from new material obtained over the summer.
On Thursday, they plan to tie everything together they’ve presented from the start of the hearings for the public to view.
“I think all the loose ends will finally be tied up in the report,” Committee member and Democratic Rep. from California Zoe Lofgren said. “We have been working throughout the summer, interviewing individuals, reviewing documents.”
Among those new records are approximately 1.5-million communications from the secret service that include e-mails and planning documents, but not text messages that were lost during a data migration.

The next hearing will wrap up months of depositions and in-person testimony, including from former Trump White House Aide Cassidy Hutchinson, who talked about what she says she was told by a secret service agent.

“The President said something to the effect of, ‘I’m the effing president. Take me up to the Capitol right now,’” Hutchinson testified.
The committee also recently questioned Ginni Thomas, wife of Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas. She’s accused of pushing Trump administration officials and others to challenge President Biden’s 2020 election victory.
Many republicans have slammed the committee and its investigation.
House Minority Leader Rep. Kevin McCarthy described the committee as the “most political and least legitimate” in American History.
Former president Trump has also fired back against the committee previously, calling it a “witch hunt.”

The hearing was scheduled for last week, but was moved because of Hurricane Ian. It will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. ET.
According to Committee Chairman Rep. Bennie Thompson (D-Mississippi), the hearing’s format Thursday will be different from previous hearings in that each of the nine lawmakers on the committee will have a chance to speak.
