ORLANDO, Fla. — A crash investigation shut down a section of I-4 in Orlando on Monday morning.

2:00 p.m. update:

Orlando Police confirm that on December 29, around 5:45 a.m., a fatal incident on I-4 near State Road 408 in Orlando resulted in one person dead at the scene.

Officers say that the accident prompted local authorities to find the individual on the roadway.

Authorities are currently investigating the circumstances that resulted in the person’s presence on the roadway.

No additional details about the incident have been made available.

9:15 a.m. update:

All lanes of I-4 have reopened near SR-408 in downtown Orlando.

Crews worked the scene for several hours early Monday, but no details have been released by law enforcement.

An active investigation has a part of Interstate 4 shut down in Orlando on Monday.

The incident happened around 5:51 a.m. on the eastbound lanes of I-4 near SR-408.

The incident has shut down all eastbound lanes of I-4 in the area.

Several Orlando police officer cruisers and other first responders are seen in the area.

It’s unclear what has caused the major closure and how long it will last.
