Suspects who caused evacuation of IKEA store identified

ORLANDO, Fla. — The IKEA store near The Mall at Millenia was evacuated about noon Saturday as police searched for two road rage suspects.

Orlando police stormed the furniture store with their guns drawn and evacuated the hundreds of people inside the store.

“All of a sudden the fire alarm went off and we came out,” said shopper Areli Perez.

Children in the play area were evacuated by store employees, causing tense moments for parents until they were reunited.

“I wanted to make sure they were safe,” said parent Ada Quines.

Eyewitness initially spotted the suspects trying to blend in with hundreds of shoppers.

“They were browsing. Just walking around,” said shopper Kaitlyn Grulon.

Police said the suspects, Larry Lawrence and Richard Holloway, were actually hiding after reportedly threatening a driver with a gun at Walden Circle and Vineland road.

Police said the suspects' white Chevy impala was spotted in the parking lot of the store, which they evacuated as a precaution.

“The victim followed the suspects, which we don’t recommend,” said Lt. David Arenas of the Orlando Police Department

Witnesses shot video of police nabbing the suspects inside the store.

“I saw four cops on top of the guy on the floor, face down,” said shopper Ian Poe.

Both were put in cruisers while officers searched their rental car.

No one was injured and the store reopened about an hour later.

Police never found a weapon on the suspects or in their rental car. Lawrence was charged with third-degree aggravated assault with a firearm and Holloway was charged with second-degree possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

According to records out of Georgia, Holloway is a registered sex offender.
