ORLANDO, Fla. — As Tropical Storm Nicole approaches Florida, some local school districts are making schedule changes.

Orange County:
Orange County Public Schools said it will tentatively resume normal operations on Monday, assuming the schools have power and are deemed safe to return to.
Schools and district facilities remain closed on Friday, but all 12-month employees will still report to their schools and work locations at their regularly scheduled time.
Flagler County:
Flagler County Schools will remain closed on Friday in observance of Veterans Day.
No decision on makeup days has been made. However, the district said it does not anticipate using the scheduled makeup days during Thanksgiving week.
Seminole County:
The district said that once the storm has passed and shelters are cleared, it will provide updates on reopening schools on its website, Facebook and Twitter pages.
Brevard County:
Brevard Public Schools are closed Friday, Nov. 11 for Veterans Day. The district will post updates on reopening on its website, social media platforms and in emails sent to families.
BPS said the makeup days for Nicole will not impact Thanksgiving week but the exact makeup dates will be announced at a later date.
Osceola County:
Classes for Osceola County schools will resume Monday. Maintenance teams will be visiting every campus to assess any damage to the schools.
There is no school on Friday, Nov. 11 in observance of Veterans Day.
Students and their families are encouraged to be careful around debris and downed power lines around the county in the aftermath of Nicole.
Volusia County:
All Volusia County schools and offices will be closed Friday, Nov. 11 for Veterans Day.
The two days that students missed because of Nicole will be made up during the second semester of the school year.
A reopening date has yet to be announced.

Marion County:
Marion County Public Schools, departments and district offices will reopen Friday, Nov. 11 except Anthony Elementary.

Sumter County:
An official reopening date has not been announced by the schools.
Colleges & universities:
University of Central Florida
UCF will resume normal operations on Saturday.

Seminole State College
Seminole State campuses are closed and classes, including online, are canceled through Friday.
Lake-Sumter State College
Lake-Sumter State College will remain closed Friday in observance of Veterans Day and reopen Monday.
The College of Central Florida
The college will remain closed Friday for Veterans Day. The Appleton Museum will open Friday as scheduled.
Valencia College
Valencia College will open Friday to assist students, but classes will not meet in observance of the holiday.
FAMU Orlando College of Law
The University will resume normal operations on Monday.
Full Sail University
Full Sail University announced it will return to full campus operations on Friday at 9 a.m. Classes will be in person as scheduled and faculty and staff may return.
