DAYTONA BEACH SHORES, Fla. — Hurricane Matthew left severe damage to many hotels in the Daytona Beach area Friday into Saturday.
Part of the roof at the Ocean Jewel Resort Club on South Atlantic Avenue in Daytona Beach was significantly damaged during Hurricane Matthew.
Channel 9 spotted the damage during a helicopter tour from Skywitness 9 Saturday.
Reporter Daralene Jones saw vehicles in the parking lot with damage; blown out windows and one car was crushed by roof debris.

The motel-condo conversion has been there since the 1950s, and it had also sustained damage during Hurricane Charley.
Several residents stayed on the property to ride out the storm, but no one was injured.
