Hundreds of pythons removed during this year’s Florida Python Challenge

THE EVERGLADES, Fla. — Hundreds of Burmese pythons were removed during this year’s Florida Python Challenge.

Nearly 1,000 participants from 32 states removed 231 invasive pythons during the 10-day challenge.

It was created to increase awareness about invasive species and the threats they pose to Florida’s ecology.

The winner who removed 28 pythons received the grand prize of $10,000.
