Human bones found in Polk County woods

POLK COUNTY, Fla. — The Polk County medical examiner is investigating a set of human bones found by a man looking for scrap metal.

Polk County deputies said a man found a skull and other bones in the woods near North Wabash Avenue in Lakeland.

Investigators said they believe the bones come from an adult.

The cause of death has not been determined.
