ORLANDO, Fla. — With a coronavirus pandemic ongoing, many seniors in Central Florida are at risk for the virus.
Channel 9′s Nancy Alvarez said hundreds of seniors in our community rely on the service from Seniors First of Central Florida and hundreds more rely on meals at their local community centers.
Many of those centers have closed due to concerns of COVID-19 spreading throughout the facilities.
Several volunteers who deliver meals on wheels are older than 60 and are putting themselves at risk.
Seniors First of Central Florida said it is attempting to come up with ways to continue to provide food to seniors but with minimal contact.
