Homicide investigation underway after police find man shot near Sanford Best Buy store

SANFORD, Fla. — Police say a homicide investigation is underway after a shooting Tuesday night in Sanford.

Around 8 p.m., officers responded to the 1500 block of Rinehart Road for reports of a shooting.

In the parking lot of the Best Buy store, they located a man who had been shot, according to Sanford Police Department.

Police said he died after being rushed to a hospital.

SPD has since identified the victim as 21-year-old Terance Darnell Pope.

Now police are seeking information from anyone who witnessed the shooting or might know something about it.
