Homeowners search for damage after hailstorms strike parts of Central Florida

MELBOURNE, Fla. — Some people across Central Florida are checking out the damage after a second day of hail fell Wednesday.

Brevard, Marion and Lake counties experienced severe storms Wednesday afternoon, and some homes received hail damage.

Channel 9 spoke with residents who experienced some of the worst from the hailstorms.

Residents at an Eau Gallie mobile home park said homes were riddled with holes from hail and high winds during Wednesday’s severe weather.

At West Melbourne Central Middle School, the outdoor seating area was blanketed with ice.

In Marion County rain was coming down sideways and trees and flags were buckling.

All of yesterday’s severe weather came on the heels of another storm that hit Lake County hard.

On Tuesday, hail blanketed the ground in Clermont as strong winds scattered debris and caused damage to pool screens and cars.

The effects were also felt in Groveland, Davenport, and Kissimmee.
