AdventHealth, Orlando Health and HCA Healthcare Inc. are among the systems that have proposed multiple new freestanding emergency rooms. The trio of health providers have at least eight freestanding ERs in some stage of development or planning in the area.

The new development comes as Orlando has continued to grow, going from 2.13 million people in 2010 to 2.67 million in 2020, according to the U.S. Census Bureau.
