It’s almost Mario time at Universal Studios Japan.
The theme park announced this week that Super Nintendo World will open in early 2021. It will be the world’s first theme park area based on the characters and worlds of Nintendo.

Park officials said an exact opening date will be announced soon.
Ahead of the opening, Universal Studios shared photos and renderings of the Mario Café & Store, opening outside the land on Oct. 16.
Theme park officials said Super Nintendo World will bring the experience of playing Super Mario games to the real world allowing guests to jump and hit blocks, collect virtual coins and items, and more.

In January, officials announced that the Super Nintendo World that is being built in Japan will be part of the Universal Orlando Resort. During a quarterly update, the company said it is planning to launch Super Nintendo World in the United States “in the coming years.”
