With $3 million left of the $18 million in federal funds Brevard County received for COVID-19-related emergency rental assistance, officials want to make sure it gets into the hands that need it most before time runs out.

“The program goes to the end of September,” said Don Walker, Brevard County Communications Director. “However, you cant wait until the end of September to apply. So really, by the end of August, if you haven’t applied for rental assistance through that program, you’re not going to be able to get help from the county.”
The county will have to return whatever money hasn’t been given out. Any resident who is experiencing financial problems related to COVID-19 is eligible to apply. That includes rent, utilities and other housing-related expenses.
