ORLANDO, Fla. — Barbara Tommey never made it into work on Tuesday.
Police said the 27-year-old showed up to work at Navy Federal Credit Union on Gardens Park Boulevard around 9 a.m. but never made it through the front door.
Investigators said her husband, Sylvester Ofori, shot and killed her just outside the credit union’s door.
Police said the shooting was captured on security footage.
“You can tell that she’s trying to get inside. Unfortunately, he shoots her outside of the establishment,” Police Chief Orlando Rolon said.
Detective Matthew Rogers said in a news conference Wednesday morning that Ofori, who is a pastor at a local church, surrendered peacefully at the apartment he once shared with Barbara.

“So we believe he was a pastor with a local church. He has quite a social media following where he speaks to his followers and called himself a prophet,” investigators said.
A Facebook page in Ofori’s name has more than 60,000 followers. He is listed as the pastor at Floodgates of Heaven International Ministries on Boburn Avenue in Orlando.
Rogers said the couple had been estranged for three months, were living separately and in the process of a divorce.
Rogers would not comment on what led up to the shooting or speculate on a motive.
“What I can say is that someone committed a heinous act of violence towards a loved one and there is no excuse for that,” he said.
Rogers encouraged anyone involved in a domestic violence situation to reach out to community resources, such as Harbor House, for help.
