KISSIMMEE, Fla. — A homicide investigation was launched Sunday evening after a man's body was found in a home, Kissimmee police said.

Police identified the victim Tuesday as Chase Toops, 20, of St. Cloud.

The incident was reported at about 10 p.m. on RJ Circle in a subdivision near East Irlo Bronson Memorial Highway and Michigan Avenue, police spokeswoman Stacie Miller said.

Someone called 911 to report the body, but police are not saying who contacted police.

"They just moved here three weeks ago," neighbor Jamie Delgado told Channel 9's Janine Reyes.

Toops' grandparents, Beverly and Robert Austin, said they knew something was wrong with the man didn't come home to check on his pet lizard.

"We knew something was wrong, we just never dreamed it would be this," Beverly Austin said.

The pair raised Toops and Robert Austin called the man, "Just a good kid."

Neighbors told Eyewitness News that they heard gunshots late Sunday night.

The pair asked anyone with information to come forward.

"We just want whatever happened an whoever is responsible," Beverly Austin started.

"To pay for it and to be found," Robert Austin finished.

Anyone with information about the death is asked to contact Kissimmee police at 407-846-3333 or seeitsayit@kissimmee.org or Crimeline at 407-423-8477.
