ORLANDO, Fla. — Florida health officials reported 3,924 new COVID-19 cases Monday.
Since the pandemic began, there have been 847,821 coronavirus cases in the state.
Of the most recent cases, 873 were reported in Central Florida.

Florida also reported 58 coronavirus-related deaths, bringing the total of virus-related deaths for the state to 17,391.
In Central Florida, seven virus-related deaths were reported Monday, including three in Seminole County.
The U.S. has confirmed more than 10 million coronavirus cases, according to data compiled by Johns Hopkins University, as infections continue to rise in nearly every state.

The U.S. hit the milestone on Monday.
New daily confirmed cases are up more than 60% over the past two weeks, to an average of nearly 109,000 a day. Average daily cases are on the rise in 48 states.
Drugmaker Pfizer announced Monday that an early analysis revealed that its COVID-19 vaccine was at least 90% effective in its clinical trial, according to several news outlets.
The “vaccine candidate was found to be more than 90% effective in preventing COVID-19 in participants without evidence of prior SARS-CoV-2 infection in the first interim efficacy analysis,” Pfizer said in a news release, adding that an independent Data Monitoring Committee evaluated 94 confirmed coronavirus cases among 43,500 people enrolled in the study. Pfizer has said it would continue the study until researchers record 164 coronavirus cases among participants, The Associated Press reported.

Locally, a testing site began offering free rapid COVID-19 testing.
Health officials began offering rapid antigen testing at Barnett Park this week.
The goal is to test up to 4,000 people per week.
The site is open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
