Happening today: Volusia County Schools hosts job fair

VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. — Volusia County Schools is looking to hire new teachers — hundreds of them.

And the quest for new employees doesn’t stop there.

The district recently said it’s aiming to fill more than 750 job openings in schools throughout the county.

So VCS officials are hard at work on the new school year, even before the current one comes to a close.

Two career fairs are on tap to scout for prospective teachers and support staff.

On Tuesday, Volusia County Schools will host a job fair at Daytona State College Deltona Campus, located at 2351 Providence Boulevard in Deltona.

The career fair runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

  • Teachers
  • Paraprofessionals
  • Counselors
  • School Psychologists
  • Social Workers
  • Custodians
  • Office Specialists
  • Transportation Workers
  • Cafeteria Services Employees

If you can’t make it to today’s event, VCS has planned another opportunity tomorrow.

On Wednesday, May 31, you can visit the district’s job fair at Horizon Elementary School in Port Orange.

It’s located at 4751 Hidden Lake Drive and runs from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Organizers said application assistance, interviews, and fingerprinting will be available on-site during both events.
