‘We make no excuses’: Flagler superintendent addresses assembly that singled out Black students

“This should not have happened but it did,” Moore said. “... We make no excuses.”

Earlier this week, the district apologized after parents said an assembly held Friday singled out Black students at Bunnell Elementary School.

Two mothers said their children were told if they didn’t do well on their upcoming tests, they could end up dead or in jail.

Moore said an investigation is underway into the assembly and the content presented during it. She said the findings will be made public once the investigation is complete.
