During a news conference in The Villages, DeSantis said he is asking for more doses of the vaccine to distribute to the general population. Thousands of those are set to be given out at the state’s first golf cart drive-thru vaccination location in The Villages.
He said 3,387 people have been vaccinated in Sumter County.
On Tuesday, DeSantis also announced that more Publix locations are being added to the state’s pilot vaccination program. He said the new locations will be in the Panhandle.
