Gov. DeSantis talks challenges to classroom material in Orlando

ORLANDO, Fla. — Gov. Ron DeSantis was in Orlando on Thursday to hold a news conference on challenges being made to classroom material in the state.

DeSantis said he is working with the Florida Department of Education to take a closer look at the way schoolbooks are challenged.

The governor said “bad actors” are abusing Florida’s system to make political statements.

DeSantis said he is working with the Florida Legislature to address “frivolous” challenges.

The news conference was held at the University of Central Florida Lake Nona Cancer Center.
