Gov. DeSantis addresses Florida’s manatee population from Blue Spring State Park

VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. — Gov. Ron DeSantis held a news conference Tuesday morning in Central Florida.

DeSantis spoke at Blue Spring State Park, west of Orange City.

He was joined by Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission Executive Director Roger Young and Florida Department of Environmental Protection Secretary Shawn Hamilton.

DeSantis said Florida’s manatee population appears to be on the rebound and spoke about the state’s ongoing efforts to improve manatee habitats.
