ORLANDO, Fla. — Gas prices in Florida just reached another record high.

The average price for a gallon of gas on Tuesday was $4.15. On Wednesday, prices increased to $4.21 a gallon.
The price of gas is the highest in history and inflation is up across the board.

This is all happening just as we get into the spring break travel season, which usually brings hundreds of thousands of people from out of state to visit Florida.
“This year is very unique, and that we’re coming out of a two year pandemic, where many people may have, you know, postponed their travel plans,” said Mark Jenkins with AAA.
Now that COVID-19 cases are dropping, experts are still unsure what to expect from tourists. Some believe because of high gas prices, vacationers will want to drive a shorter distance for their getaway.

Time will tell whether that means small crowds at our beaches and theme parks in Central Florida.
