Work on a new Crystal Lagoon, the centerpiece water feature of the future $1 billion Evermore Orlando Resort at Grand Cypress Resort, is underway.

Dart Interests, the Dallas-based owner of the Grand Cypress property and developer of Evermore, received an environmental resource permit from the state on Feb. 8 for a project dubbed, “Grand Cypress Lagoon.”

Evermore Orlando Resort is a massive multi-phase property with plans for a luxury hotel, vacation rental and hospitality/entertainment with components such as the hotel beginning to open in 2023.

The lagoon project site takes up 13.68 acres on the existing Grande Cypress driving range just east of existing golf villas, according to documents.

The lagoon plans show proposed hotel properties to the north, rental flats to the east and more.
