Fresh-squeezed: Florida citrus-themed mural unveiled at the Florida Welcome Center

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — On National Orange Juice Day on Thursday, a new citrus-themed mural was unveiled at the Florida Welcome Center.

The 23-foot by 12-foot hand-painted mural is at the Florida Welcome Center, located off Exit 380 on Interstate 95, just north of Jacksonville.

The mural was designed and painted by artist Lauren Hom.

“Our goal is for visitors to step into a space that makes them feel as if they’re in the heart of a Florida Citrus grove,” said Shannon Shepp, executive director of the Florida Department of Citrus. “The mural incorporates vibrant colors found in Florida Orange and Grapefruit groves as inspiration.”

The Florida Department of Citrus and Visit Florida said visitors to Florida Welcome Centers can always enjoy free, delicious samples of Florida orange and grapefruit juice.
