VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. — A free workshop in Daytona Beach will help local businesses recruit, hire and retain veterans and military spouses.
Volusia County is home to more than 50,000 veterans, many of whom bring leadership experience, discipline and specialized technical training to the workforce.
The “Camouflage to Corporate” workshop will take place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 17, at the Ocean Center, located at 101 N. Atlantic Ave. Registration begins at 9 a.m.
The program will cover best practices for hiring veterans and military spouses, workforce partnerships, employer resources and strategies for retaining military talent.
Military spouses can face distinct employment challenges because of frequent relocations connected to military service.
Volusia County Veterans Services is presenting the workshop in partnership with NXT Mission and CareerSource Brevard Flagler Volusia. The event is open to local and national employers, educators and other organizations.
Attendance is free, and coffee, snacks and lunch will be provided. Registration is required and is available online here.
The workshop is part of Volusia Values Veterans, an initiative launched in 2025 to expand services, recognition and employment opportunities for former service members.
