Florida’s population surges past 23.3 million, census data shows

ORLANDO, Fla. — Florida’s population has surged past 23.3 million, according to new census data.

The state added nearly half a million people between 2023 and 2024, second only to Texas in growth.

International migration played a big role, with Florida gaining over 411,000 people this way.

State economists say this growth is like adding a city the size of Orlando every year.

Projections show Florida could reach 25.7 million people by 2034.
