Florida town plans to give peacocks vasectomies to cut down overpopulation

MIAMI, Fla. — A suburban Miami town is fed up with the overpopulation of peacocks, so they’ve come up with an interesting solution.

The city of Pinecrest plans to give male peacocks vasectomies to try to cut down on the bird’s numbers.

Residents said the colorful birds have become a nuisance in the community.

Data shows the procedure on one male can stop up to 12 females from reproducing.
