ORLANDO, Fla. — The Florida Department of Health reported a record-shattering 15,300 new COVID-19 cases Sunday.
This is the highest single-day case increase since the pandemic began.
The state reported 45 coronavirus-related deaths, including one in Seminole County, one in Brevard County and two in Polk County.

Health official said the state recorded a record-high number of more than 142,900 test results in one day.
They said 142,981 test results were reported to the state and 11.25% of new cases tested positive.

The total number of COVID-19 cases in the state is now 269,811, with a death toll of 4,346.
Orange County reported more than 1,300 new COVID-19 cases and several other Central Florida counties saw more than 100 new cases.
