The latest increase in cases comes as Gov. Ron DeSantis announced an expansion of the state’s pilot program to distribute COVID-19 vaccine through Publix locations in certain counties across the state.

DeSantis announced last week that about 15,000 Moderna doses were being sent to 22 Publix stores in Citrus, Hernando and Marion counties. On Wednesday he said several Publix stores in Volusia and Flagler counties will offer the COVID-19 vaccine.
