ORLANDO, Fla. — Florida reported nearly 14,000 new COVID-19 cases Wednesday, including more than 3,200 in Central Florida.
The state also reported an additional 174 coronavirus-related deaths, bringing Florida’s total death toll from the virus to 23,759.

Of the latest deaths, 33 were reported in Central Florida, including 10 in Orange County.
As of Wednesday, the state has now reported 1,517,472 cases of the virus and 7,863,262 negative tests.

The latest increase in cases comes as Gov. Ron DeSantis announced an expansion of the state’s pilot program to distribute COVID-19 vaccine through Publix locations in certain counties across the state.
DeSantis announced last week that about 15,000 Moderna doses were being sent to 22 Publix stores in Citrus, Hernando and Marion counties. On Wednesday he said several Publix stores in Volusia and Flagler counties will offer the COVID-19 vaccine.
