ORLANDO, Fla. — The Florida Department of Health reported 7,486 new COVID-19 cases in the state on Saturday.
Of the new cases reported, 1,527 were in Central Florida. Orange County reported the most local cases with 394, followed by Polk County with 246.
State records show 1,771,359 COVID-19 cases have been recorded in Florida since the start of the pandemic.

State health officials also reported 145 new virus-related deaths on Saturday, including three people who were not Florida residents.
Of the new deaths reported since Friday, 52 were in Central Florida.
Marion County reported 25 new COVID-19-related deaths in the last 24 hours.

State records show 28,058 people have died in Florida from coronavirus complications since the start of the pandemic.
The state also continues its COVID-19 vaccination efforts, with 2,448,711 total doses administered, records show.
