ORLANDO, Fla. — Florida reported 10,533 new COVID-19 cases on Tuesday as well as 140 more virus-related deaths.
Of the latest cases, 2,402 were reported in Central Florida.

The state’s current death toll from the virus is now 27,269, and health officials said 22 of the latest deaths were reported locally, including 10 in Polk County.
The increases come as the White House announced an expansion of the U.S. pharmacy program to distribute the COVID-19 vaccines.

Officials said the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention will start distributing 1 million doses of the vaccine to 6,500 pharmacies across the country, including major outlets such as CVS, Walgreens, Walmart, Rite Aid and Costco as well as supermarket pharmacies.
