The new numbers come as local communities continue to acquire and administer coronavirus vaccines.

On Tuesday morning, Seminole County and Florida Department of Health in Seminole County said they received 8,100 Moderna vaccines.

The county said it plans to start dispensing the vaccines to frontline workers on Wednesday.

The Florida Department of Health in Orange County also received its first shipment of 16,000 doses of the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine on Tuesday.

“We have been planning for this day for many months,” said Dr. Raul Pino, health officer for the Florida Department of Health in Orange County. “This initial shipment of Moderna COVID-19 vaccine not only gives us the ability to protect the local emergency workers who will serve as vaccinators in the future but also limits the spread of the COVID-19 virus within the community.”

Many people are wondering when they may be eligible to get the shot.

To give people across the country an idea of when they may be able to get vaccinated from the virus, The New York Times launched a tool for people to calculate where they fall in the long line of Americans looking to get vaccinated.
