BROWARD COUNTY, Fla. — The first presumptive case of monkeypox has been reported in Florida, according to the Florida Department of Health.

FDOH officials reported Sunday that the presumptive case was found in an international traveler in Broward County.

Health officials said the person is being isolated and people with possible exposure are being notified.

Officials said clusters of monkeypox cases have been reported globally since May 14.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention sent out a health advisory May 20 regarding recent cases of monkeypox in the U.S.
