Florida reports fewer than 2,500 new COVID-19 cases for 6th straight day

ORLANDO, Fla. — Florida reported fewer than 2,500 new COVID-19 cases on Friday for the sixth day in a row.

State health officials reported 2,338 cases on Friday.

Of those, 586 were reported in Central Florida.

That brings the total number of cases in the state since the pandemic began to 2,320,818.

The state also reported 43 virus-related deaths on Friday.

Of those deaths, 14 were reported in Central Florida.

The latest deaths bring the state’s total virus-related death toll to 37,512.
