Florida reports another 111 deaths linked to coronavirus, more than 2,600 new cases

ORLANDO, Fla. — State health officials on Friday announced 111 additional deaths from illness linked to COVID-19.

Florida’s death toll now stands at 14,730, according to the Florida Department of Health.

Of the latest statewide deaths, 24 involved Central Florida residents, including seven in Volusia County, six in Seminole County, four each in Orange and Brevard counties, two in Marion County and one in Lake County.

Friday’s data also showed 2,660 new cases of the virus, a slight increase from the 2,628 cases noted on Thursday.

Since the pandemic began, the number of coronavirus cases recorded statewide totals 711,804.

To date, the number of negative tests recorded by state health officials totals 4,639,71, an increase of 23,026 since Thursday.
