ORLANDO, Fla. — Florida Department of Health officials reported a total of 3,662 new COVID-19 cases Tuesday, and 881 of those cases were in Central Florida.
Since the pandemic began, there have been 760,389 cases of the virus reported in Florida.

In Orange County, health officials said they have noticed an increase in cases, mainly among younger people.

The two-week rolling positivity rate was up from 5% last week to 5.3% this week, officials said.
At a briefing Monday, Orange County health officer Dr. Raul Pino said half of the new cases reported were between the ages of 15 to 35 years old, and of those, 75% were between 18 to 28.
The number of negative COVID-19 tests in the state increased by 25,002, bringing the total number of cases to 5,007,558.
The state on Tuesday also reported 84 additional COVID-19-related deaths, bringing the state’s death toll of residents and nonresidents to 16,306.
Of the most recent COVID-19-related deaths, 20 were reported in Central Florida, including four in Marion County, three each Brevard, Osceola, Polk, Volusia and Sumter counties, and one in Seminole County.
Flagler and Lake counties reported no deaths.
Two deaths originally attributed to Orange County were determined to be residents of other counties, bringing total deaths in that county to 532.
