Florida reports 8,198 new COVID-19 cases, 99 virus-related deaths as vaccinations continue

ORLANDO, Fla. — The Florida Department of Health reported 8,198 new COVID-19 cases on Monday.

Of the new cases reported, 1,825 were in Central Florida. Orange County saw the largest local increase with 641 new cases.

The total number of COVID-19 cases reported in Florida now stands at 1,280,177.

Florida officials also reported 99 new virus-related deaths, including three nonresidents who died in the state.

The total number of coronavirus deaths in Florida is now at 21,613, according to state records.

COVID-19 vaccinations also continue across the state and in Central Florida.

Florida confirmed 4,117 more people have been vaccinated in the last 24 hours. Records show that 122,881 COVID-19 vaccines have been administered in the state.
