Florida reports 6,820 new COVID-19 cases, 22 coronavirus-linked deaths

ORLANDO, Fla. — Florida reported 6,820 new COVID-19 cases and 22 virus-linked deaths in its daily report released Sunday afternoon.

As of Sunday, more than 17,333 Florida residents have died from COVID-19 since the pandemic began.

Of the most recent deaths, three happened in Central Florida. Two new deaths were reported in Marion County and one in Brevard County.

Since the pandemic began, there have been 843,887 coronavirus cases in the state.

Florida also reported 38,184 new negative COVID-19 tests, bringing the total of negative tests for the state to 5,570,095.

The state average rate of positive COVID-19 tests is 6.21%.
