ORLANDO, Fla. — For the second straight day, health officials reported fewer than 2,000 new cases of coronavirus statewide.
Tuesday’s data showed 1,823 additional cases, a slight decrease from the 1,838 cases reported Monday.
Tuesday’s numbers also showed another 44 deaths statewide linked to COVID-19, compared to 22 reported in Monday’s data.
Of the 44 latest deaths, six involved Central Florida residents, including four in Marion County and one each in Seminole and Flagler counties.
On a broader scale, since the pandemic began, the state’s death toll now stands at 12,067.
The number of coronavirus cases throughout Florida totals 650,092.
To date, the number of negative tests recorded by state health officials totals 4,166,781. That’s an increase of 28,442 since Monday.
