ORLANDO, Fla. — The Florida Department of Health reported 4,098 new COVID-19 cases on Sunday as the state continues to see less people falling ill to the virus.
Of the new cases reported, 830 were in Central Florida. Orange County reported 238 new cases and Brevard County added 119.
State records show 1,944,995 COVID-19 cases have been recorded in Florida since the start of the pandemic.
Fewer state residents are being hospitalized for the virus, state records show.
Ninety-one residents were reported to be hospitalized on Sunday, lower than the hundreds reported on average each day in the state.
State health officials also reported 66 new virus-related deaths on Sunday, including three people who were not Florida residents.
Of the new deaths reported, 14 were in Central Florida. Osceola County marked six new COVID-19-related deaths on Sunday.
State records show 32,266 people have died from COVID-19 complications since the start of the pandemic.

COVID-19 vaccination efforts also continue across the state.
Florida has administered 5,483,531 doses of COVID-19 vaccine; 3,550,139 people have received either one or two of the required does.
