Florida reports 3,699 new COVID-19 cases, 31 virus-related deaths on Sunday

ORLANDO, Fla. — The Florida Department of Health reported 3,699 new COVID-19 cases on Sunday.

This daily case report is much lower than the 5,244 cases reported Saturday and the 5,214 added Friday.

Of the new cases reported, 830 were in Central Florida. Orange County reported the most cases with 248.

Records show 1,976,808 COVID-19 cases have been recorded in Florida since the start of the pandemic.

State health officials also reported 31 new virus-related deaths on Sunday, including one person who was not a Florida resident.

This daily death total for the state is lower than the 85 deaths reported on Saturday and 105 reported Sunday.

Of the new deaths recorded, four were in Central Florida. Two deaths were reported in Lake County, and both Orange and Volusia counties added one death.

Records show 32,860 people have died from COVID-19 complications in Florida since the start of the pandemic.

COVID-19 vaccinations efforts also continue across the state.

Records show 4,204,186 people have been vaccinated in the state, including more than 2 million who have received two doses. A total of 6,450,812 COVID-19 vaccines have been administered in the state.
