Florida reports 22 coronavirus-related deaths, fewer than 2K new cases

ORLANDO, Fla. — The Florida Department of Health released data Monday showing 22 more deaths linked to COVID-19, bringing the state’s death toll to 12,023.

Officials also reported 1,838 new cases of the virus, a decrease from the 2,564 daily cases reported in Sunday’s data.

“Coronavirus

Since the pandemic began, the total number of coronavirus cases in Florida stands at 648,269.

Of the 22 latest deaths reported statewide, four involved Central Florida residents, including three in Marion County and 1 in Polk County.

To date, the number of negative tests recorded by state health officials totals 4,138,339, an increase of 15,076 since Sunday.
