Florida reports 1,200 new COVID-19 cases, 56 virus-related deaths

ORLANDO, Fla. — Florida reported an additional 1,234 new COVID-19 cases on Tuesday.

The increase is the lowest reported in eight months.

The latest cases bring the total number in the state since the pandemic began to 2,327,989.

Of the latest cases, 280 were reported in Central Florida.

The state also reported an additional 56 virus-related deaths on Tuesday, including eight in Brevard County.

That increase brings the state’s total death toll to 37,665.
