Florida reports 118 coronavirus-related deaths, almost 3K new cases

ORLANDO, Fla. — State health officials on Friday announced 118 additional deaths linked to COVID-19.

Twenty-five of the latest deaths were in Central Florida, including seven in Orange County, four each in Volusia and Marion counties and three in Polk County.

Osceola, Seminole and Brevard counties each reported two deaths; Sumter County noted one death in Friday’s data.

Florida’s death toll now stands at 15,372.

“Coronavirus

The data also showed 2,908 new cases of the virus since Thursday.

Since the pandemic began, the number of coronavirus cases recorded statewide totals 728,921.

To date, the number of negative COVID-19 tests in Florida totals 4,789,241, an increase of 25,496 since Thursday.

Osceola: 13,023 (+66)- 172 deaths (+2)

Seminole: 9,377 (+34) – 232 deaths (+2)

Polk: 20,929 (+115)- 552 deaths (+3)

Volusia: 11,378 (+53)- 284 deaths (+4)

Brevard: 9,777 (+120)- 317 deaths (+2)

Flagler: 1,838 (+7) - 31 deaths (0)

Lake: 7,862 (+44)- 202 deaths (0)

Marion: 10,102 (+27)- 317 deaths (+4)

Sumter: 2,612 (+19)- 76 deaths (+1)
