Florida judge blocks DOJ’s request to release migrants from custody without court dates

ORLANDO, Fla. — A Florida federal judge has denied the U.S. Department of Justice’s request to stay a ruling on migrants.

That means the DOJ is blocked from quickly releasing migrants from border patrol custody without court dates.

The department had argued that if border patrol was not allowed to release migrants quickly, Homeland Security could arrest them and release them with notices to report.
