VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. — A forest fire in Volusia County is creating a lot of smoke in the area of U.S. 1 and Sunningdale Lane in Ormond Beach and the Florida Highway Patrol is warning drivers to be cautious in areas of low visibility.

The smoke from the fire could affect roadways in Volusia and Flagler counties, FHP said.

“Visibility may deteriorate quickly due to smoke/fog conditions, especially during the night time and early morning hours,” FHP said in a release. “Motorists are reminded to reduce their speed as necessary to avoid a collision and utilize their low beam headlights in order to adapt to changing weather conditions.”
