Florida health officials report nearly 3,500 new COVID-19 cases

ORLANDO, Fla. — The Florida Department of Health reported more than 3,000 new cases Sunday.

Florida health officials reported 3,494 new cases of the virus as well as 17 coronavirus-related deaths across the state.

Sunday’s numbers bring the total number of cases in the state to 97,291 and the death toll to 3,161.

In Central Florida, health officials reported Seminole County had one coronavirus-related death.

Orange: 4,569 (+295 new cases since Saturday)

Osceola: 1,052 (+45 new cases since Saturday)

Seminole: 1,265 (+76 new cases since Saturday)

Volusia: 1,218 (+50 new cases since Saturday)

Brevard: 850 (+33 new cases since Saturday)

Flagler: 226 (+2 new cases since Saturday)

Lake: 733 (+62 new cases since Saturday)

Marion: 395 (+6 new cases since Saturday)

Sumter: 284 (+2 new cases since Saturday)

Polk: 2,042 (+72 new cases since Saturday)
