Florida health officials report more than 2K new COVID-19 cases

ORLANDO, Fla. — The Florida Department of Health reported 2,016 new cases of COVID-19 in the state since Saturday.

The state’s total case numbers have now reached 75,568, with 2,931 deaths.

The state reported six coronavirus-related deaths.

In Central Florida, Orange, Seminole and Polk counties saw the highest jump in cases, with each having 50 or more new COVID-19 cases.

Orange: 3,130 (+193)

Osceola: 838 (+28)

Seminole: 759 (+50)

Volusia: 928 (+14)

Brevard: 545 (+4)

Flagler: 207 (+3)

Lake: 464 (+12)

Marion: 311 (+1)

Sumter: 266

Polk: 1,466 (+52)

A new COVID-19 testing site is set to open at Chisholm Elementary School on Tuesday at 9 a.m. Anyone can register for testing by calling 386-274-0500.
