TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis announced Thursday in a video posted to his Twitter account that his wife Casey is now considered to be cancer-free.
DeSantis announced his wife’s breast cancer diagnosis in October.

Florida’s First Lady has undergone treatment and surgery over the past few months.
“I’m sure as hell not giving up,” Casey DeSantis told the crowd at the Hernando County Republican Party Lincoln-Reagan Day Dinner shortly after her diagnosis was announced.

Gov. DeSantis thanked everyone for their thoughts and prayers. He sent his support “for all the women out there who are going through breast cancer right now: you can overcome this. I know it’s very difficult but my wife is proof positive.”

DeSantis said the First Lady “still has more to do” but is optimistic she would make a full recovery.
